Pelvic Floor Therapy is a specialized type of physical therapy that focuses on the muscles, ligaments, and tissues that support the pelvic organs, such as the bladder, uterus, and rectum.

Pelvic floor physical therapy can help address a variety of conditions that are more common in women, such as urinary incontinence, pelvic pain, sexual dysfunction, and pelvic organ prolapse. These conditions can be caused by a variety of factors, including childbirth, menopause, and aging.

In addition to pelvic floor physical therapy, women may benefit from other types of specialized physical therapy that address issues such as pregnancy-related pain, postpartum recovery, and osteoporosis.

I received my B.S. in Management from George Mason University and went on to become a Coast Guard Officer. While in the Coast Guard I started to teach Les Mills group exercise classes and also become a personal trainer. After five years of service, I decided to continue my love for fitness as a physical therapist and earned my Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Franklin Pierce University in 2014. Several years after graduation, I found my passion in pelvic floor physical therapy after recognizing a huge need in the community and amongst the patients I was treating.

I especially love helping postpartum moms navigate the world of issues “down there” by giving them the knowledge and tools they need to tackle any bowel, bladder or sex-related issues — but I enjoy treating a wide variety of pelvic health concerns that span the age continuum. Collaborative and compassionate care are the hallmarks of my practice.

I’m also a firm believer in life-long learning, and carve out time throughout the year to attend conferences, take continuing education courses, and stay up-to-date on new research in the field. In this way, I can provide the best possible care to my patients. I’ve taken extensive coursework in pelvic health topics through the renowned Herman & Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation, the Institute for Birth Healing, and through the sections on Orthopedics and Women’s Health of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA),

I have been a member of the APTA since 2010, am a Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). I am also a proud mother to twin boys and a crazy boxer named Frankie 4Paws.
